Presentation 1 - "Gearing up for the 2020 Census"

Benson Zhao is currently working for the U.S. Census Bureau as a Partnership Specialist in the Los Angeles Regional Office.Benson’s major duties are establishing partnerships with federal, state and local governments, business and community groups, and coordinating the partnership agreements in the San Francisco Bay Area (particularly Contra Costa County, San Francisco County and LGBTQ in the Bay Area) to ensure activities at all levels are carried out. Before joining the Census Bureau, Bensonhad served as the Director and Chief Editor for the Chinese Language Education and Research Center (CLERC) in California for 7 years (2013-2019).

Presentation 2 - Census 2020 - Count Me In!

Teresa Gerringer is Supervisor Diane Burgis’ Communications Director. She also advises the Supervisor on special projects, including the Census 2020 effort. Teresa is a 22-year resident of Contra Costa County and experienced community leader. She has demonstrated a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in her community, the region, and the state.

Recently elected to the Lafayette City Council, and with 18 years of service on the Lafayette School Board, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and a MBA, she brings the background and experience in governance, communications, advocacy, and community building essential to work with Supervisor Burgis to get things done.

Previously, Teresa served as District Director to State Senator Steve Glazer, and was a political strategist, working with schools, public agencies, and candidates to share their stories with voters. She has a lifelong passion for and commitment to public service.
